Chancer - From SB to First Horse
Some horses just arrive at exactly the right moment - and Chancer is one of them.
Lat year, this beautiful mare left us at SB to begin her new chapter with Hannah, a first-time horse owner stepping up from ponies to her very first full-sized horse. It was a big leap - from 13hh to 16.1hh - and Chancer has taken on the role with all the patience, kindness, and heart we knew she had.
From the very beginning, Chancer has been teaching Hannah, helping her grow in confidence and knowledge every single day. With the support of the wonderful yard around her, Hannah has embraced the learning journey, and Chancer has been right by her side - proving herself not only a fantastic first horse, but a true partner.
She settled into her new home beautifully and wasted no time winning hearts. Always the first to the gate and eager to come in for cuddles and attention, Chancer has already become a much-loved member of the yard family. And with a teenage girl to adore her, she’s guaranteed a future full of fun, adventure, and plenty of pampering!

“This is Chancer who came to us from SB a month ago. She is my first horse and has been teaching me lots and I have got lots of people on the yard to help me along the way! She has built up my confidence on my step up from ponies (big step from a 13hh–16.1). Thank you to Sharon who had her just waiting as if it was perfect timing! Chancer has definitely made her way into all our hearts being the first at the gate to come in every time. And of course her new owner being a teenage girl means she’s going to have lots of fun!”
