At SB, we’re always happy to welcome people who share our passion for horses and their welfare. We regularly offer opportunities for volunteers, apprenticeships and university or college placements, giving like-minded individuals the chance to learn, grow and become part of our supportive team.

Volunteers play a valued role in the day-to-day care of our horses, and placements provide hands-on experience in rehabilitation, management and life on a busy Thoroughbred yard. Whether you're looking to develop your skills, gain practical knowledge or simply spend time helping horses transition to a new life, we’d love to hear from you.

Current Positions Available:

We are currently looking for a competent and experienced work rider to join our team. The role involves riding well-behaved racehorses in training, as well as ex-racehorses, and assisting with general yard duties. We have openings on Wednesday and Friday mornings, as well as Thursday mornings and Thursday afternoon.

The ideal candidate will be confident and experienced with horses, able to use their own initiative, and capable of working independently. Previous experience riding racehorses or ex-racehorses is essential.
