Founded by Sharon Blake and based in the beautiful South West of England, we are a family-run yard dedicated to the careful retraining, rehabilitation and rehoming of racehorses from all walks of life.
What began with helping place a handful of horses from one yard (Sharon’s Husband, Michael Blake Racing) soon grew into a trusted and recognised service, now supporting trainers, owners and private homes from across the country.
Our mission is simple: to give every horse the time, understanding and care they deserve as they transition into a new chapter.

Bishop (racing name Potters Bishop) is an 8-year-old gelding standing at approximately 16.3hh and is now ready to find his forever home.
Bishop is a really lovely horse to have around the yard. He's kind, enjoys being around people, and has settled well into life at SB. He's happy hacking both alone and in company and is enjoying getting back into work. Bishop is a forward-going ride who loves having something to do. In his previous home, he thoroughly enjoyed his jumping, attending baby showjumping competitions, cross-country schooling, and hound exercise.
We think Bishop has a fantastic future ahead of him and will make a brilliant prospect for someone looking for a horse to continue producing and enjoying.
Medical history is available on request. In July 2025, Bishop sustained a very minor fracture to his wither after pulling back while tied up on his previous yard. This was successfully managed without surgery. He began walking out and long reining in October 2025 before returning to ridden work at the end of December 2025, and he has continued to progress well since.
Our horses are individually priced, typically ranging from £1,000-£4,000, depending on their age, temperament, experience, and level of retraining.

Duvee (racing name Duveen) is a 6-year-old mare standing at approximately 16.1hh who has settled brilliantly into life at SB and is now ready to find her forever home.
From day one, Duveen has been a lovely mare to have around. She has a kind, affectionate nature, isn't mareish, and has taken everything in her stride. She's happiest with plenty of forage, friends, and a fuss, and once she knows you, she's just like a big Labrador.
Since being with us, Duveen has really enjoyed her schooling and has shown a willing attitude to her work. She has settled beautifully into our herd turnout and enjoys being out with the other horses. In her previous home, she attended equine agility sessions where she was happy with flags, tarpaulins and other obstacles. She is also confident walking over poles and popping small cross poles. She's good for the vet, farrier and dentist, travels well.
Who would Duvee suit?
Duveen would suit someone looking for a kind, affectionate mare to enjoy and continue producing and educating. We think she'll make a lovely all-rounder with plenty to offer her new owner.
As with all of our horses, we believe they thrive with company, so we do not rehome to homes where they will be kept alone in a single paddock.

Des (racing name The Defiant) is a 10-year-old gelding standing at approximately 15.3hh/16hh. Trained by Luke Dace, Des had a successful racing career, winning over £85,000 on the Flat before retiring to begin his next chapter.
Des has been an absolute pleasure from the moment he arrived at SB. He's a lovely, genuine horse with a kind nature and fantastic manners, making him a favourite with everyone who meets him.
He's proving to be a really enjoyable ride. Des is happy hacking both alone and in company, is confident out on the roads, and has been enjoying his time learning in the school. He's also popped a jump nicely and has shown a willing attitude to everything we've asked of him. He enjoys being around people and is the sort of horse who just wants to please.
Who would Des suit?
Des would suit someone looking for a lovely horse to continue producing. He has all the ingredients to make a lovely all-rounder and would be just as happy hacking as he would continuing to progress in the school or over a fence.
As with all of our horses, we believe they thrive with company, so we do not rehome to homes where they will be kept alone in a single paddock.

Tank (racing name Thinque Tank) is a 10-year-old gelding standing at approximately 16.1hh and is one of our much-loved previous SB horses.
He returned to us after spending 4 years in a lovely home. Unfortunately, after being introduced to a new trainer for showing, the experience knocked his confidence as the trainer was very unkind to him. He became anxious and simply needed a reset.
We took things right back to basics and gave Tank a reset and allowed him to at SB. We couldn't be prouder of how he's come on. He's now back to being the happy, relaxed horse we knew before, enjoying his schooling, hacking both alone and in company, and taking everything in his stride.
He really is a lovely horse to have around. He's kind, easy-going, enjoys a fuss, and has a very laid-back attitude. Since being back with us, he's been happily schooling on his own, hacking alone and in company, and all of our SB’s are road tested. He's taken everything we've asked of him in his stride. He's good for the vet, farrier and dentist, travels well.
Who would Tank suit?
Tank would suit someone looking for a gentle, kind horse to enjoy. We think he'll make a fantastic all-rounder.
As with all of our horses, we believe they thrive with company, so we do not rehome to homes where they will be kept alone in a single paddock.
