Our Horses Home at SB

Staverton Farm offers a peaceful, well-equipped environment that supports every stage of a Thoroughbred’s transition from racing life. Our horses benefit from both indoor and outdoor arenas, allowing calm schooling in all weather, along with over forty acres of gentle hacking routes and open space to explore quietly and build confidence. Large paddocks give horses the opportunity to socialise and enjoy herd life where suitable, while sheltered indoor turnout areas ensure horses who need a little extra support can still relax and graze comfortably.

The main stable barn provides a safe, calm base with consistent routines, and our horse walker helps horses maintain fitness gradually and safely. We also have an indoor barn that offers sheltered space for turnout, grazing or quiet downtime, particularly useful for new arrivals or horses that need a gentler introduction to the yard. We have secure outdoor pens for controlled turnout or new arrivals settling in, as well as access to local bridleways and quiet roads, helping horses become confident in varied environments. Our farm dogs are a familiar part of daily life here too - they provide gentle, positive exposure so horses learn to feel comfortable and relaxed around dogs.

Together, these facilities create a calm and supportive space where horses can rest, rebuild strength and steadily develop new experiences. Above all, the environment at Staverton Farm is designed to feel safe, quiet and reassuring - giving each horse the best chance to truly settle and thrive as they begin their next chapter.
