Trapper - When The Horse Chooses You
Some horses find their people, instead of us looking for them! Rebecca his owner didn’t arrive at SB looking for him - in fact, she had a completely different horse in mind. But sometimes the right match is waiting quietly in the next stable.
When the first viewing didn’t feel quite right, Trapper caught her eye. One look was all it took for him to make his introduction. After trying him and returning for a second visit, she knew he was the one.
Here’s what Rebecca had to say about their journey so far:
“I didn't arrive at SB racehorse rehoming to look at Trapper. I had some criteria that I was ‘definitely’ going to follow! The horse I came to see just wasn’t my cup of tea and Trapper was in the stable next to it, so I asked to look at him. He won my heart straight away. He’s an oversized Labrador - into my pockets straight away looking for snackies! I had a ride on him and, like a sensible person, went away to think about it as he was bigger than I wanted. After my second visit I knew I definitely wanted him and he came home with me the following day. He has since made all the childhood dreams I had come true. I’ve never been able to compete before, but now we’re out there doing it! Trapper is a horse who will turn his hoof to anything. Fun times ahead for us, I think.”
We’re thrilled to see Trapper thriving in a home where he’s truly adored - and where he can enjoy every opportunity life after racing has to offer.
